Rylan's Birth Story......

My world is completely different and I could not be more excited! I cannot explain the love I have for my little boy. He is absolutely perfect and is so beautiful! On Friday morning I woke up around midnight with horrible cramping. I had been cramping the day before but didn't think that is what contractions were going to feel like. When I woke up I decided to take a warm bath and see if they would go away... in my mind, I didn't want to think it was the real thing because if I got myself too excited then I was sure they would just stop. After being super uncomfortable I decided to wake Kyle up and tell him that I thought it was the real deal. For about an hour and a half I had been timing the contractions telling myself that if I had just one more I would go get him up, but I was so nervous that I kept letting them go and go. Once we headed to the hospital I was in quite a bit of pain but it was bearable. When they checked me I was only a 2 and 80% effaced. So, of course they told me to walk the halls for an hour and they would check me again. The night before Kyle had hurt his ankle so there was no chance that he was going to be walking with me : (..... after an hour of walking the halls and seriously going pee every 3 minutes I had them check me again and I was almost a 3 but not enough progress to be admitted. I seriously thought I was going to cry. I couldn't believe that I was getting sent home and that I was barely progressing, how disappointing. Once we got home I was in a lot more pain. My contractions were now about every 4 minutes and it was to the point that I could barely say a word during them. My amazing mother in law came over and helped me labor while Kyle tried to get some rest because he knew it was going to be a long day. As the contractions got stronger, the back labor set in and I was in so much pain. At about 7:30 am we decided to head back to the hospital and see how far I had progressed. When we got to triage I could barely stand the contractions so they hurried and checked me in and got a nurse to check me right away. I was now 4 1/2 centimeters and 100% effaced and the nurse said my water was ready to break. Once they walked me over to a delivery room they hooked up my IV and called the anesthesiologist. Once I got the epidural I was in a whole new world. After a little while my doc came in, checked me broke my water and things were really rolling! Pretty soon I was 10 centimeters and ready to push. I started pushing at 2:00 pm, after 21 actual minutes of pushing and only 10 contractions our amazing baby boy was here.

21 1/4 inches long

This little boy is my everything. I can't explain the love I feel for him and how I would do absolutely anything to make sure he has the most perfect life. He is so precious and I cannot believe we created this little miracle. I am the happiest I have ever been and I would absolutely never change anything for the world.
Welcome to the world sweet baby boy, Mommy and Daddy love you so much xoxo

Finally....

We have finally finished the dresser for the nursery, and I could not be happier with the way it turned out!! I am sooo in love with it and I know my hubby is too. I can't even count the hours we spent on stripping, sanding, staining and finishing. Seriously one of the hardest jobs ever but we finally have it all finished and we are pretty darn proud!!....Take a look.....

Beginning...

Middle.......

All Finished : )

The nursery is coming together so well! We are getting ready to start some letters for his name, my amazing mama is going to paint a tree on the wall for a book shelf, and we are putting a Dr. Suess saying on the wall as well!! Everday I walk by his room I can't help but smile : ) I love our little guy so much I cannot wait to meet him!!! Only 3 more months!!

I can't believe how fast the first half of the year has gone.. Does it seem like it has flown by to anyone else?? I hope the next three months go as quick as the first 6!

Rylan is moving around so much these days! It is such an amazing feeling. Most of the time he is super active when we are laying in bed at night! It always feels like he is kicking and rolling a million times. I wouldn't change it for the world!

It's been a while....

Lately, the days seem like they are flying by... I cannot believe that I am 24 1/2 weeks pregnant. It seriously amazes me that it is the middle of may and in 3 1/2 months our little guy will be here : ) It makes me soooo happy I cannot even stand it.

A few weeks ago Kyle broke his foot...oh what a joy this has been. Talk about being exhausted when you are pregnant. Let me tell you, it is 10x worse when you are doing EVERYTHING! Mowing the lawn, cooking dinner, cleaning the house, driving your hubby to work(most days)....no no no, I'm not trying to complain but geeez it is so much. Thankfully his foot is feeling much better and he even mowed the lawn on Sunday..it was so nice just to lay on the couch for one day. If doing a ton of extra work wasn't bad enough, I have caught the dreaded sinus infection and it is kicking my booty. I have no energy, my entire body hurts and all I want to do is sleep..but guess what....When I feel this little guy kick and move around, I seriously forget about all of the stuff that is going on and realize how truly blessed we are!

This weekend we have plans to finish painting the nursery and finish the dresser/changing table!!! I seriously cannot wait for those to be done so we can start putting more things in Rylan's room. It is all happening so fast...each week flys by..pretty soon we are going to be in August and I will reallllllllly be freaking out. I just cannot wait to see what this little guy looks like. Will he have my eyes or Kyle's eyes, who's nose, who's ears....eek I am so ready to see him!!

This was post was me just running my mouth but I hadn't posted in a while and I promised myself I would not let this slip haha

Can't wait to post pics of the nursery : )

On my mind....

Two posts in two days...this will not be a normal thing, but I just got to thinking....

A few things I absolutely cannot wait to do/have when I'm not pregnant anymore....

1. Hot Yoga: I am craving this! I have only gone a couple times before but I realllllllly loved it and I cannot wait to get back into it! I think it will be soooo relaxing after this little bebeh is out of this belly!

2. A BEER!!: I really am not a huge drinker at all, and I know it is crazy talk, but sometimes I just have a craving for beer..mostly Corona and I never was a big Corona drinker in the first place

3. Hot Tub at the cabin!!: I cannot wait to really be able to sit in there and enjoy the steaming hot water again...I'm over the bath already since I take one almost every night.haha

4. My boobs back!!!: ok ok ok..I've always had big ones but they are REALLLLLY too big now and I'm ready for them to not have a million veins visible on them haha TMI sorry : )

5. SLEEP!!: I know. I have to wait quite some time for this one...but what I really cannot wait for is being able to go to bed and sleep all night long without having to get up to pee because this is getting realllly annoying! Plus...my kid seriously hates when my bladder is full. NO JOKE!!!

ps. my hubby has been in the garage ALL NIGHT LONG taking the paint and varnish off of an old 50's dresser that we are using for the little guys room! What a rockstar I married! He is so sweet and seriously takes care of everything for me! I couldn't imagine going through this with anyone else...Love you Kyle : )

The Beginning.....

This is definitely a new thing for me....and I'm not quite sure how it is going to go but here's to a shot at it : )

I am now 20 weeks pregnant, and I am more excited as the time goes by. I cannot believe we are half way there, it seriously amazes me how quick everything is going. We have the nursery partially painted, the crib up and a few outfits in the closet, but that is really it. I feel like I have so long still but when I think that in 4 months this little guy will be here, it really begins to make everything real to me. THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO STILL!!! Every day I google something new about being pregnant. Yesterday I was curious about getting in the hot tub. I know I know, they say that being in a hot tub is not good, but when the hot tub was literally colder than my bath water, I couldn't resist! It was just what I needed, and the baby loved it. He was moving around soo much and has been ever since. What an AMAZING feeling!

Since I am the most impatient person in the entire world.. I decided I needed something to help pass the time while I wait for this little guy to grow big and come into this world. So.. I want this blog to be about our lives and what is going on, but I also want it to be about a bunch of DIY crafts and fun! The first project is going to be refinishing a dresser and making it into a changing table as well. I cannot wait to start on this project and post tons of pictures along the way!

....Here's to trying to become a blogger : )
